Isaiah Thomas Last 3 Years Have Been The Real Roller Coaster

Life has changed a lot for Isaiah Thomas in the past three years. The point guard had to prove his worth in the league over and over just to find himself in the same position where he started. IT peaked during his time with the Boston Celtics, but he hasn’t made that same impact on any team ever since he left the TD Garden.

Drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 60th and last pick of the NBA draft in 2011, Thomas had to work hard to earn a spot in the league. After three years with the Kings, he was shipped to Phoenix via sign-and-trade.

After that, he was traded to the Boston Celtics to change his career and become one of the best players in the NBA, being considered a candidate to win the MVP award. Thomas became an All-Star, took his team to the playoffs, but the Atlanta Hawks prevented them from transcending in the league.

Two years after he joined the Boston Celtics, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers to share touches with LeBron James, but he started struggling to find his position in the team due to injuries and chemistry issues.

In 2018, he went to the Los Angeles Lakers, but he was ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to his right hip.

During the 2018 offseason, he signed with the Denver Nuggets, one of the most promising teams in the league. Yet, IT was unable to live up to the expectations, as he kept struggling to find a place on the roster.

Last summer he agreed to sign with the Washington Wizards in which looked like his last chance in the league. Although he showed some good things, Thomas was still traded to the Los Angeles Clippers as a trade deadline acquisition, only to be waived on Feb. 8 by the Californians.

Ever since he left the Celtics, Thomas’ career has gotten worse. During his best year with the C’s, he averaged 28.9 points, 5.9 assists per game, 3 rebounds per game while shooting 46% from the field. This year, he’s posted 12.2 points, 3.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds per game.

This guy was well known for his work ethic, his capacity to improve his game and to prove everybody he could be an important player in the NBA, but all of that is part of the past now. After getting waived by the Clippers, some reports place him with the Celtics once again, but only time will tell if they make this move and if it really pays off for them.
