Young point guard Ja Morant is widely viewed as the face of the Memphis Grizzlies, and there’s no doubt that he’s shown that he’s well on the path to superstardom. He has been spectacular in the Memphis Grizzlies’ series against the Golden State Warriors.

Unfortunately, Ja Morant was sidelined with an injury for Game 4, and it seems as though he might be out for the rest of the playoffs. Shams Charania has recently revealed that Ja Morant has a bone bruise in his knee, and is doubtful to return during the rest of the playoffs.

Grizzlies say Ja Morant has bone bruise in his knee and is doubtful for remainder of the playoffs.

There is no doubt that this is a big blow for the Memphis Grizzlies. Ja Morant is central to what they do, and his ability to get to the paint at will is a huge part of their offense. The Memphis Grizzlies are down 3-1 to the Golden State Warriors, and without him, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to come back from such a deficit.

However, the priority should definitely be Ja Morant’s long-term health, as he is crucial to the Memphis Grizzlies being able to be contenders in the near future. He is the face of the franchise, and it is possible that he’ll become an MVP candidate in the future if he keeps improving.

As of right now, the goal for the Memphis Grizzlies will be to win Game 5 in Memphis and try to go on from there. They should take it one game at a time. They were 20-5 without Ja Morant this year during the regular season, and perhaps we’ll see some of that team basketball that made them great in Game 5.

Hopefully, Ja Morant is able to get healthy and return to the court sooner rather than later. However, a bone bruise is no joking matter, and he should make sure that he’s fully healthy before making his return.
