Former NBA player Jeff Teague shared a wild story about a time when he and some of his teammates nearly got into serious trouble with a large group of Somali men at a club in Minnesota, on the ‘Club 520’ podcast. The incident, which Teague recalled with humor and disbelief, involved himself, fellow player John Lucas III, and Jarred Bayless.

“Wore a suit to the club—me and J. Luke—when we were about to get beat up by… who are the people that run Minnesota?”

“The African people, the Somalians. N***a, they was on our a**. There were like 60 of them, and J. Luke looked like one of them.”

“They said ‘what’s up’ to him, and he didn’t say ‘what’s up’ back. They were looking like, ‘What the f**k?'” “Then J. Luke grabbed their Hennessy bottle n***a and I’m like, ‘What the f**k like?’

“I swear to God, Jarred Bayless was gone. I’m looking around like, ‘Where’s Jarred?’So me and J. Luke ran out of the club. Man, that n***a Jarred was all the way down the street. We see that motherf***r all the way down Stacy Adams.”

Jeff Teague explained that he and Lucas had gone out to a club, and they quickly found themselves in a precarious situation. According to Teague, the two players somehow managed to offend a group of about 60 Somali men, who were not pleased with the perceived slight. Teague humorously highlighted the moment when tensions began to rise. Matters worsened when John Lucas, in a moment of panic or confusion, grabbed a Hennessy bottle from the group, further provoking them.

At that point, the situation became too intense, and Teague, Lucas, and Bayless made a run for it. Teague hilariously pointed out how Jarred Bayless had already disappeared from the scene. Teague ended the story by recalling their hasty exit from the club, still in disbelief at how fast Bayless had managed to get away.

Though the story could have had a much worse ending, Teague looked back at the night with a sense of humor, reflecting on how a misunderstanding, a Hennessy bottle, and a group of 60 Somali men almost resulted in a chaotic brawl.
