Jerami Grant has quickly proven himself to be one of the most exciting young big men in the NBA today. Grant has been playing for the Detroit Pistons. While Detroit has not been a great team, Grant has shined and garnered a lot of interest from many different NBA teams.

Jerami Grant was most recently linked to the Washington Wizards, with a report saying that they are considered the favorites to land the big man. But according to the latest report, Grant has a few conditions in order to join a new NBA franchise, whether it be through a trade or through free agency.

As reported by Jake Fischer, Jerami Grant has ‘little interest’ in joining a team where he won’t be the primary offensive option for them. On top of that, he is looking to sign a contract extension with the Detroit Pistons (or a new contract) in the ballpark of 4 years and $112 million.

Grant seems to have a lot of faith in his own talent and development. And so, he wants to make sure that he gets the opportunity to run the offense and be the star player of a team so that he can et the experience of being a leader and the relied-upon star of a team.

This report could effectively rule out the Washington Wizards, as no trade would see Bradley Beal leave the Wizards. And given Beal is an All-Star, he will still be the focal point of the offense for the Wizards. This could complicate any potential deal he makes with the Wizards.

But Beal is a free agent this season. And if he chooses to leave the franchise, the Wizards could pull the trigger on Jerami Grant, and make him the first option of their offense. But this deal does have a lot of caveats, and it remains to be seen what the franchise does.
