Kevin Durant signed with the Golden State Warriors during the 2016 free agency period, allowing them to form one of the most dominant superteams of all time. During his time with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant became a two-time champion and two-time Finals MVP. There is no question that Kevin Durant’s decision was a key factor to the Golden State Warriors having their insane run.

July 4th is a national holiday in the United States, but it also marks Kevin Durant making the announcement of his decision to sign with the Golden State Warriors. There was a fan post commemorating Durant’s move, and Kevin Durant hilariously commented on the post, asking if the day was now a holiday.

This shit a holiday now???

— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) July 4, 2021

There is no doubt that Durant made a move that shocked the NBA community at the time, as he joined MVP Stephen Curry while being an MVP caliber player himself, forming a superteam. However, that resulted in him winning on the highest level. Kevin Durant’s decision helped the Golden State Warriors have a dynastic run, and it was certainly a great run for the team and for Durant himself.
