Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins went at it on Thursday night, as the former Oklahoma City Thunder players traded barbs on Twitter in another heated exchange involving one of the NBA’s biggest stars.
It all started on Thursday morning when Perkins announced that he would appear on SportsCenter to explain why he believes Russell Westbrook is the best player to ever suit up for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In about 30 minutes I’m going to give my opinion on @SportsCenter on why Believe that Russell Westbrook is the best player to have ever put on a Oklahoma City Thunder Jersey!!! He is MR. THUNDER!!!

When OKC fans tributed Brodie for his time with the organization, Durant took to Twitter to send a message to Perkins, who took a shot at Durant’s failure to win a championship in OKC. Durant stated the big man didn’t provide much help for the Thunder when he was part of the team during 2010-2014.
Yea and our starting center @KendrickPerkins averaged a whopping 2 and 3 during that series. U played hard tho champ lol

Perkins agreed that he didn’t do much after averaging just 3.8 points, 3.3 fouls, and 1.6 turnovers in 67 playoff games with the Thunder. Still, he then took another shot at Durant, digging at the All-Star forward for leaving Oklahoma City and joining the Golden State Warriors after losing to them in the playoffs.

This wasn’t well-received by KD, who seemingly has had enough of these comments. So, he took one more pointed jab at Perkins’ work ethic and his lack of skills.
Weak is starting at center, playing real minutes with no production. Should’ve worked on your skills as much as I did

Durant has become one of the best players this generation has seen and one of the most prolific scorers in the history of the game. Yet, he’s shown over and over that he’s a bit sensitive when it comes to criticism. KD hasn’t hesitated to fire back at whoever criticizes him, including former teammates.
