We're going through Mamba Week and while that may sadden most of us because of how much we miss Kobe Bryant, it's also the perfect time to honor his legacy and the impact he had on and off the court.
Kobe didn't settle for being good or great. He wanted to be the best. Ironically, he wanted all of us to be the best. The best at what we do, the best version of ourselves, always the best.
Bryant constantly pushed us to strive for greatness. He wanted to motivate people to work hard enough to leave a mark on this planet and not just settle for the average. He did that from the second he set foot on a basketball court until the very final day of his life.
That's why the Los Angeles Lakers released some unseen footage of his jersey retirement press conference when Mamba, once again, had a Hall-of-Fame kind of inspirational speak:
“It’s the one thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you—or don’t. So don’t take it lightly," Kobe told the media.
Fast-forward to today and we couldn't agree more with Kobe. He's remembered as one of the most inspirational and competitive people to ever set foot on the face of the earth. He led by example and lived up to his words and now, he can be at ease knowing that no one will ever forget him and what he meant for this sport.
