LaMelo Ball Says He Calls Michael Jordan ‘Unc’ When They Talk

2 Min Read

LaMelo Ball is definitely leaving a big mark on the Charlotte Hornets in his first season with the team. The rookie has enchanted everybody with his performances on the court and he’s also shown his charm off the court with his fun personality.

While most people would be scared of talking with His Airness Michael Jordan, Melo is confident that he can have some privileges whenever he talks with the widely considered GOAT. Jordan has carried a reputation of a ruthless owner but things are completely different and this Melo’s story is the prime sample of that. Talking with Bleacher Report’s Hoops, the youngest Ball brother revealed he calls MJ ‘Unc’.

It’s unclear why he decided to take that route. If he thinks MJ and his dad could be like brothers, Melo is very wrong about that. LaVar and Mike’s relationship (if there’s any) hasn’t been the best of all and the Ball family patriarch didn’t do much to improve it.

When he was drafted by the Hornets, Melo was asked who would win in a 1-on-1 game between his father and Jordan and he didn’t explicitly said the 6x NBA champion but dropped the idea while addressing the situation.

His ‘Unc’ is really happy with him and all the things he’s done for the franchise so that would have put him in a position where he can give a new nickname to Michael Jordan. It doesn’t get more LaMelo than this.
