Jayson Tatum has had an incredible year with the Boston Celtics, notably leading the team to the NBA Finals. He became the first-ever Eastern Conference Finals MVP on the way there, and despite the fact that the Boston Celtics ended up losing to the Golden State Warriors, it is clear that the best is ahead for Jayson Tatum and the Celtics.
Many people have called out Jayson Tatum over his Finals performances, as he struggled when guarded by Andrew Wiggins and other Warriors’ defenders. In fact, Nick Young even claimed that Jayson Tatum left Jaylen Brown “hanging”.
“As much as I love JT he showed his true light skin colors came out this finals got lock up the whole finals left his boy brown hanging … …you got too much Game for this to happen,” Young wrote.
LeBron James has recently come to Jayson Tatum’s defense, pointing out that the Celtics’ star had a great season regardless of the outcome of the Finals, and added that “he’ll be back” on the highest stage.
Jayson Tatum is a beast. He didn’t play to his standards. But to the regular sh*t standards, only people that’s comfortable. Man, he had a hell of a season. That guy’s not even 25 yet, he’ll be back, and he got nothing to hang his hat on.
He played against the same team of my first Finals. I played against the Spurs. It’s the same s*it. They took advantage of me not knowing much.
Jayson Tatum has shown that he is a superstar in this league with his past playoff run. He now has experience playing in the Finals, and there’s no doubt that he will perform better the next time around.
The Boston Celtics notably made a trade for Malcolm Brogdon this offseason, and it is clear that they are a franchise that is committed to winning. Hopefully, we see them get back to the Finals next year, and perhaps they’ll even win a championship.
