LeBron James usually does his best to avoid getting involved in any kind of controversy, but not even he could duck from last night’s scene at Crypto.com arena.

At some point during the game, as Shannon Sharpe was hurling some trash talk in the direction of the Memphis Grizzlies, things got heated between him and one of the players, which resulted in an altercation that went viral online.

Sharpe, Ja Morant’s father, and several Grizzlies players were involved by the end of it and the moment nearly spiraled out of control before security got a handle on things.

He is known for being a big supporter of LeBron James on TV these days and Sharpe has recently started attending Los Angeles Lakers home games. While not a lot happened when Sharpe was at the Lakers-Hawks game, things got out of control when he attended their latest game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Obviously, the situation became the story of the night, and countless fans, analysts, and experts chimed in to offer their own solutions on who was right and wrong in this scenario.

As for LeBron James, we all knew that he would become a point of focus due to his friendship with Mr. Sharpe.

“I ride with Shannon 365 days — 366 on a leap year — 24/7. So that’s my guy,” James said. “I always got his back. And he’s got mine. He can talk with the best of them, for sure.”

It’s nice to know that LeBron looks out for his own, but it turns out he wasn’t yet done showing his support for Shannon.

LeBron James Takes To Instagram In Support Of Shannon Sharpe

Shannon was allowed back into the game, and both sides made up in the end, but James wasn’t going to let it end without getting one last word in.

A little over an hour ago, James posted the following on IG:

If “I Wish A Muthaf**k* Would” was a person! MOOD . Unk VIBES! ✊

Shannon Sharpe isn’t going to win any awards for being a respectful fan, but he definitely earned some respect amongst the fans and player base for the way he stood up for himself during the game.

Clearly, LeBron has no issue at all with how Shannon handled it and one has to wonder if encounters such as these will become more common considering the precedent Sharpe has set.
