Luka Doncic is only 23-years-old and has already established himself as one of the best players in the league. While he has always been a beast during the regular season in his short career, he missed a meaningful playoff run from his resume.

But in the 2021-22 NBA season, this changed as Luka and the Dallas Mavericks have qualified to the 2022 Western Conference Finals. They will face off against the Golden State Warriors there and hope to make it to the 2022 NBA Finals.

Today, our focus is not on what’s next for the Mavericks, but on their fantastic performance in Game 7 against the Phoenix Suns.

Dallas utterly humiliated the Suns behind a sensational performance from Luka Doncic and blew out Phoenix in an incredibly important game. From the start of the first quarter, the Mavs took control and never let the Suns make a comeback.

At halftime, the score was already 57-27 in favor of the Mavericks. What’s more surprising is the fact that Luka Doncic alone had scored as many points as the Suns did in the first two quarters.

During the postgame interview, Doncic was asked whether he was aware of this stat or not. The 23-year-old hilariously replied that he was fully aware of the scoreline.

“Were you aware at halftime you had as many points as the Suns”

Luka: “Yea, of course.” 😂

Doncic’s answer resulted in the entire group of reporters erupting into laughter. While the Western Conference Semifinals are over, the job is far from over for the Mavs.

They still have to cross two hurdles before becoming the 2022 NBA champions. But the way that Doncic is playing, the Mavericks have certainly become heavy favorites to win it all this season.

It was obvious from the fact that many NBA superstars like Ja Morant, Patrick Beverley, CJ McCollum, and more had nothing but praise for the European Magician after his heroics in Game 7. Now it’s up to Luka and co. to make sure they stay humble and make it to the NBA Finals.
