Magic Johnson Calls LeBron James The “Greatest Player In The Game” In Viral Tweet

As one of the greatest basketball players in history, Magic Johnson has more qualified to talk ball than most. And, since his final retirement in 1996, that’s exactly what he’s done.

Over the past few years, Magic has hailed a lot of praise towards LeBron James in particular, even calling him “the greatest leader in the game” at one point.

What the USA Men’s Basketball team is missing is a guy who’s won 4 NBA Championships (making him a proven winner), the best leader in the game of basketball, and someone who makes his teammates better…aka LeBron James!

Well, it looks like Magic isn’t quite done raining down compliments about the King.

In a post on Twitter, the Lakers legend posted a photo of himself and LeBron at an LA Chargers game that included a very interesting caption…

Hanging out with the greatest player in the game today @KingJames!

It’s no surprise that the fans went pretty crazy in the comments.

The “best player in the world” conversation is a pretty controversial subject right now. For many within the community, Kevin Durant took that title back in the 2021 postseason.

“That’s what I’ve been saying for several days,” said Skip Bayless. “Kevin Durant is quite simply the best player on the planet! This is what I have been saying for three years. It’s not LeBron, it’s obvious once again! Durant dominated the calculations for the MVP predictions. 45 to 7 among the voters? This means LeBron isn’t even in the same stratosphere as Durant.”

Of course, at 36-years-old, LeBron James isn’t the player he used to be. He can’t run as fast and can’t jump as high, but he remains effective, even heading into season 19.

As a 17x All-Star, 4x MVP, and 4x NBA Champion, it’s not wise to count out LeBron, even in spite of all the obstacles in front of him.

Magic Johnson seems to understand this more than most.
