Stephen Curry has finally gotten his moment in the sun after being named the 2022 NBA Finals MVP for his sensational performances against the Boston Celtics in the 2022 Finals. Curry led the Warriors to a convincing series win and now joins an elite group of people to have been named both Finals MVP and regular-season MVP.
After the turbulence the Warriors went through in recent years, a lot of fans were waiting for Curry to finally win the trophy. He lost out to Andre Iguodala in 2015 and Kevin Durant in 2017 and 2018, so this was finally his chance to put his imprint on the Bull Russell Finals MVP award. Fans around the league were overjoyed for Curry and shared their feelings on Twitter.

Stephen Curry is the first guard to win Finals MVP since Kobe Bryant in 2010.
Only guard in the league who can be the best player on a championship team and he’s 6-2.
Give that man his respect!! 🐐

Curry and the Warriors will be focused on doing it again next season. While the tone from everyone is extremely congratulatory, it won’t be long before people are poking holes in their roster to build some agenda or the other. Curry and the Warriors have proven there is no answer for championship DNA and this momentum will guide them into the next season to be just as hungry.
Very few players in NBA history can claim to have won the Finals MVP, but Steph can finally join the list of awardees. It is the greatest sign of respect for the impact he has been having on this team for years as their leader and it is great to see him finally be able to take that award back home.
