Nikola Jokic keeps making history in the NBA, confirming that he belongs to the elite and is one of the best players in the association right now. The Serbian player keeps making a case for the 2022 MVP award, and his recent performances only reassure that he will fight for that prize until the last second.

On Thursday night, Joker made history when he became the first player to record 2000 points, 1000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season, earning more appreciation and praise from fans in the arena and those who watched the game at home.

Following the match, he was asked about his MVP status, and the reigning Most Valuable Player said he’s trying to win as many games as he can and lead his team to the promised land. Jokic even praised the competition, saying some players are having incredible seasons, too.

“To be honest, I think there is a lot of guys that are playing at an extremely high level. … I’m just trying to be humble, to stay on the ground. … I don’t think about that to be honest, am I one of the best? I’m just trying to win the game,” he said, via Mike Singer.

Jokic is considered the biggest favorite to win the MVP award this season, which would be his second consecutive trophy. He picked things right where he left them last season and raised the bar even higher. The Joker is trying to win the biggest trophy for an NBA team, but before that, he could be lifting one that crowns him as the best player in the league.

Meanwhile, he keeps making history, helping the Nuggets secure their spot in the playoffs, hoping to step up his game in the postseason.
