The Chicago Bulls are a team that is 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and they've been viewed as one of the better teams this season. However, amidst a ton of players being sidelined due to health and safety protocols, they have lost their last two games.
A lot of the spotlight has been on Nikola Vucevic, who's been going through a shooting slump. Vucevic has claimed responsibility for his poor performances, claiming that he's "not doing my job" and that he has to "figure it out".
“It’s very disappointing for me because I’m trying to be there for my team and do what I have to do to help us win. And I’m not doing it right now," Vučević said via Zoom from Miami. “I’m coming up short for my teammates, and that’s the most frustrating part.
"There are games where I didn’t play as well, but we were winning, so it’s not that big a deal. But when we lose and you don’t play well, you feel like it’s even more your responsibility, your fault.”
I’ve never been through a slump like this,” Vučević said. “And I just have to work myself out of it. There’s no other way. Obviously, I’m not playing well right now. I’m not doing what I’m supposed to do. I’m not doing my job. I have to figure it out, plain and simple.
There is no question that the Chicago Bulls need Nikola Vucevic to perform better, especially against other good teams such as the Miami Heat. It is good to see him acknowledge his subpar play, and hopefully, we see him bounce back.
The Chicago Bulls are viewed by many as contenders for the title, though they are definitely not among the favorites. However, they have a lot of work to do as a team to become that championship contender, and we'll see if they are able to do so
