There are players who perform best when under the spotlight: as the saying goes, pressure makes diamonds. In basketball, those players are usually called clutch, and their calling card is showing up when it matters the most. Draymond Green is without a doubt one of those players, and he is a proven playoff performer.

During the Golden State Warriors Game 7 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, Draymond Green had a spectacular game. He had 32 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 assists. While the playmaking and the rebounding are always going to be there, scoring 32 points is atypical for Draymond Green. Despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors lost the game, it is clear that Draymond Green shows up to play at the biggest moment.

Stephen Curry has recently praised Draymond Green’s performance in big games, claiming that we all can see the type of player Green becomes. There is no doubt that he elevates his game in the playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors need Draymond Green to activate his playoffs mode, as their first matchup is against the Los Angeles Lakers, which means that they have to face LeBron James and Anthony Davis. That is going to be a tough matchup, and Draymond Green will certainly have to defend both of them over the course of the game. The Golden State Warriors have closed the season well, and have been playing inspiring basketball over the last few weeks. Draymond Green is the heart and soul of the Warriors, and good things happen with him on the court.
