The Dallas Mavericks are currently on a 7-game win streak as they prepare to go up against the Boston Celtics. The team has been carried by some amazing performances from Luka Doncic and Christian Wood has also stepped up in a major way. However, moving forward, there is still an understanding that the Mavericks have to make a trade for them to be legitimate contenders in the Western Conference.

There has been some speculation about Zach LaVine coming to Dallas and becoming the second star alongside Luka Doncic. However, there are a lot of other suitors for LaVine, meaning that the Mavericks have to look at some other options as well. As such, other options are also in play for the Mavs, and this idea from Heavy has some potential

Mavericks receive: Bradley Beal

Wizards receive: Evan Fournier, Davis Bertans, Obi Toppin, Cam Reddish, Jaden Hardy, 2023 1st-Round Pick (via DAL from NYK), 2025 1st-Round Pick (via DAL), 2026 1st-Round Pick (Swap), 2027 1st-Round Pick (Top-10 Protected)

Knicks receive: Tim Hardaway Jr., Kyle Kuzma

“A trio of Beal, Doncic, and Christian Wood would immediately be one of the best in the league, and considering Doncic has been able to carry the Mavericks on his own this season, adding Beal to the mix would likely only elevate their title chances.”

Bradley Beal would be an interesting addition to the Mavericks, he would instantly become the best player Luka Doncic has played with. And they wouldn’t lose too much depth either, which would make Dallas quite dangerous. And some top analysts also think this move might work.

JJ Redick Thinks The Mavericks Should Pair Luka Doncic And Bradley Beal

JJ Redick played on the Dallas Mavericks for a while before his NBA career ended, so he knows what the locker room is like. Speaking on The Old Man And The Three, he suggested Beal as a candidate for the Mavs to consider.

“It’s just a matter of who would be available, and I like the idea of Bradley Beal a lot… It’s obviously gotta be somebody that’s comfortable playing off the ball. Sort of oscillating between on the ball and off the ball, and most stars are ball dominant… I feel like Bradley Beal has been in trade rumors.”

For now, the Mavericks are in a precarious position. Giving up major assets for a star might not be the best move, just in case it doesn’t work out. But Luka Doncic’s MVP-level talent needs to be capitalized on, and that means the trade deadline should be an interesting one for Mavs fans.
