Evan Mobley is a young big man for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he is well-known for his defensive ability. He is also a relatively versatile offensive player capable of shooting the basketball from the midrange area while also creating offensive on the interior.

Recently, Evan Mobley was spotted playing an offseason basketball game with Kevin Durant, something that will no doubt excite Cavaliers fans. Kevin Durant is also known as a player that is versatile on both ends of the floor, and perhaps Evan Mobley can end up picking up some things from the veteran superstar.

Prior to him getting drafted, many people viewed Evan Mobley as a generational talent. One of those people was a former coach, who suggested that he’s a mixture of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“I’ve called him a generational talent, and here’s why,” Etop Udo-Ema told The Undefeated. “He’s got a mixture of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant in his game, and he’s a great defensive player who can change the course of any game. I’ve been coaching for 30 years and I’ve seen pretty much every top player that has been through Southern California, and if he develops, he can be better than any of them.

“Once he gets bigger and stronger, there is no ceiling for this kid.”

Hopefully, we see Evan Mobley become that superstar that many expect him to due to his draft position. He definitely has the potential to do so, but obviously, we need to see that translate to on-court performance.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in a good spot right now, and they have some other good players on their roster besides Evan Mobley, such as Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland. They could definitely become a contender in the Eastern Conference soon, and Evan Mobley’s development will be absolutely integral in that coming to fruition.
