The Washington Wizards have long been wanting to put a star next to Bradley Beal in the hopes of competing in the Eastern Conference. Today, it seems as though they will be getting their wish.

The Dallas Mavericks have traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Washington Wizards for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. This move gets the Mavericks another ball-handler while giving the Wizards a really good big man with an All-Star appearance.

The Mavericks are trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Wizards for a package centered on Spencer Dinwiddie, sources tell ESPN.

There is no doubt that this could potentially be a good move for both teams. The Dallas Mavericks have long been looking for a good ballhandler to put next to Luka Doncic, and Spencer Dinwiddie definitely fits the bill. Adding Davis Bertans also gives the team more shooting.

The Washington Wizards acquiring Kristaps Porzingis is interesting, as they have not been linked with him at all previously. However, Porzingis is a versatile big man who can protect the rim and shoot the basketball, so perhaps he can be a winning contributor on the Washington Wizards.

This deal could potentially work out for both teams, and it’s easy to see that both teams have reasons to do it. Hopefully, we see both teams thrive after making this significant move.
