The rap game has always looked like the NBA in terms of competition, comparison between eras, and people from different places and backgrounds trying to be the best of the best. This has been common for many years and right now, it’s no different.
Just like rappers have favorite players and even can make their Mount Rushmore, like Ice Cube recently did, NBA stars also select who they consider are the best rappers out there at the moment. We’ve seen stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and more being around the biggest names of Hip Hop, but they’re not the only ones.
Recently, Zion Williamson gave a shout out to one artist that is making a lot of noise. The New Orleans Pelicans star was asked about his number one rapper right now, and he went with NBA YoungBoy, one of the most entertaining talents of the moment.
"Gotta go with Youngboy" 😂

“My opinion right now,” Williamson said in a short clip, “out of the young core, I gotta go with YoungBoy.”
One would think that the name might have helped Zion make his decision, but the truth is that this ‘NBA’ stands for ‘Never Broke Again’. Still, nobody can deny that this young man has done enough to earn a lot of recognition after breaking out into the scene.
This 22-year-old rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has made a splash in recent years and he’s only getting better by the day.
Meanwhile, Zion is working to get ready for the 2022/23 NBA season, where he’ll try to help the Pelicans improve what they did this season and get past the first round of the playoffs. Injuries have bothered the former Duke player, but he’s stayed strong, working to be in the best shape.
If Zion can have the same impact as YoungBoy next season, the Pels will be ready to shock many teams in the Western Conference.
