Zion Williamson missed the entire 2021/22 NBA season due to a foot injury that looked normal at the beginning and then prevented him from joining the surprising New Orleans Pelicans that made it to the postseason after beating the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in tournament.

They have a solid team for the upcoming season and will add their superstar after a year of absence. Zion is ready to destroy rivals and his recent moves only confirm that the young forward is on a mission right now. After several rumors of speculation about his fitness, the former No. 1 overall pick is ready to shut down doubters and take the Pels to have a deep playoff run.

He has teased fans about what’s coming, sharing a big announcement on Instagram, showing what’s next for him in the league. He warned everybody about his return and Pelicans fans should be happy about it.

“Locked in @jumpman23 Proud to announce my 2nd signature shoe is here. This spring, I trained on campus and now it’s time to show y’all what I been up to. The #Zion2 available tomorrow.”

Moreover, Zion has been going around the streets of New Orleans, trying to get in touch with the people. Well, he was spotted playing hoops with local kids on Tuesday night. Somebody shared a pic of Zion with these kids on a court, showing that Williamson is engaging with the locals.

It’s really cool to see that Zion is trying to be present in New Orleans after many rumors suggested he could leave the Pelicans this offseason. He’s set to sign a contract extension to stay at Smoothie King Center after many months saying he can’t wait to do it.

Clearly, Zion wants to stay in New Orleans. He still can do a lot of great things there given his age and the fact that he hasn’t played at the best level yet. With the good core they had last season and the addition of Zion, the Pelicans could shock more people this campaign.
