NBA Releases List Of Approved Jersey Messages

2 Min Read

The NBA has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to social justice and racial equality. So, amid one of the largest social protests the world has ever seen, nobody was surprised to see the NBA take action.

When the season restarts later this month, executives gave permission for players to replace the name on the back of their jersey with a message of their choosing. Today, a list of permitted messages have been released…

Admittedly, it would have been cool to let the players come up with their own thing, but it would have no doubt opened the door for some questionable text.

Still, the list covers a lot of different things and we expect many players to take part in expressing their support for the BLM movement. With these guys playing on a national stage, in front of millions, they will help give a voice and draw attention to a lot of the issues plaguing the minority communities.

Of course, it will also draw a fair amount of criticism from folks on the other side of the aisle.

Regardless, good for the NBA to take action in spreading a message of acceptance, love, and equality. It will be awesome to see it all played out later this month.
