NBA Rumors: Lakers Interested Ιn P.J. Tucker

2 Min Read

Amid their bid to repeat as NBA Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers have been among the most active teams in the rumor mill this season. Thanks to the rise of Brooklyn, and the assembly of the new “big three,” the Lakeshow has some ground to make up if they want to stay ahead of the competition.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team is looking to Houston for some reinforcements, with one particular name in mind: P.J Tucker.

Tucker is a 35-year-old veteran forward with an identity as a 3-and-D player. Alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, he’d be a near-perfect fit, likely landing a ton of open looks on the perimeter.

The question is, what would the Lakers be willing to give up to land him? In a trade, Houston would want young players and picks, both things the Lakers might be willing to give up.

Of course, Tucker could also be headed for a buyout, which would obviously be the best-case-scenario for L.A.

This season, Tucker is averaging 4.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game on 37.5% shooting. It will be interesting to see how his future plays out over the next few weeks, and how much of an impact he is able to have with his new team.
