The Miami Heat are in contention for the title of being the NBA’s most disappointing team this season. Fresh off their appearance in the Finals, the squad is sitting at 12-17 in the East, good enough for just 10th place.
In his latest response to the poor performance of his club, Jimmy Butler (the team’s unofficial leader) responded with both blunt honesty and blind optimism.

“Terrible. Terrible. Just terrible. Not the way that we say we want to play. Not the way we’re supposed to be playing. But it’s OK, because we will turn it around. And like the saying says, ‘better late than never.'” Butler said.
It’s been pretty rough to watch this team struggle over these past few weeks, but not all of it has been their fault.
Health problems across the board, that included a COVID-19 diagnosis for Jimmy Butler, got in the way early on, and put them in an early hole that they’re still working to climb out of.
But whether it’s Butler, Bam, or a guy like Tyler Herro, the stars haven’t been stepping up in a way the team has needed. And unless things turn around quickly, the Heat might be in real trouble of missing the postseason.
Butler seems confident enough, but it remains to be seen how it will end.
