2 Min Read

After more than seven years with the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo has formed some bonds with some of the employees that work for the organization. After all that time, it’s only natural and shows just how happy he is in the city and with the franchise.

But on Saturday, Giannis was in for a bit of shock upon finding out one of the Bucks long-time beat writers got a new job is no longer covering the team. The moment of realization for the Greek Freak was captured live during a postgame press conference.

“He’s got a new job? He left us? Damn Matt, I thought we were closer than that.”

No doubt, it’s a cool moment for Mr. Matt Velazquez, who responded to the video on Twitter.

It’s understandable that he would put his family over his job — nobody can blame him for that. Amid the madness with the season and all the complications of the COVID-19 protocols, it’s also understandable how he would miss the opportunity to say goodbye to some of the Bucks players.

Nevertheless, it was a cool and innocent moment between Giannis and Velazquez, who obviously have some catching up to do.
