NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Might Bring Back DeMarcus Cousins

1 Min Read

With DeMarcus Cousins set to leave the Houston Rockets, his availability has become a huge talking point throughout the NBA community.

Of course, as he contemplates his next move, the Los Angeles Lakers emerged as a possible destination, with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in search of some reinforcements in the frontcourt. According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, a reunion might be in the works.

Obviously, Cousins is not the player he used to be. Following a string of serious injuries, the best Cousins can hope to be is a role-player for the Lakeshow.

Still, he has shown he still has a lot to offer. The 9-year veteran is averaging 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game on 37% shooting this season. As a capable shooter and talented playmaker, he’d be an ideal fit next to Lebron and A.D., who are chasing their second-straight title.

When Cousins does officially become available, L.A. will have to compete with several other teams for his services — but there remains a lot of optimism about their chances.
