Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are still waiting in Brooklyn for their next teams to be announced. As they are still under contract, the pair are completely reliant on the Nets to trade them to different teams. However, it doesn’t look like this trade is going to be materializing anytime soon.

KD has been linked to Phoenix, Miami, and Toronto with Kyrie looking destined to be headed to the LA Lakers. Despite that, no moves have been formalized mainly because of Brooklyn’s asking price on KD.

Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson shared an update on the KD-Kyrie situation in Brooklyn. He revealed that the team is being lowballed by everyone so far, so they will not rush to trade the star duo. He expects them to be in Nets uniforms at the start of the season. In addition, he floated that teams like the New Orleans Pelicans will be in a good position to make an offer for KD if they include Brandon Ingram.

Kyrie-KD trade rumors as told by a Nets staffer to me: “That’s last weeks news. The Nets ain’t trying to move KD & Kyrie for no bullsh*t.” https://t.co/7joFub97BP

“I think there’s a good chance they could. I spoke to someone on the Nets side that joked with me and said ‘we trying to get Julius Erving or Darryl Dawkins’. In all actuality, they don’t foresee any moves coming. From what they’ve shared, it seems everyone is lowballing them.”

Various sources have already reported that most trades including Durant have slowed down and this report further adds to that. The momentum on a KD trade dying out could be the reason why Deandre Ayton looks to be headed to the Indiana Pacers, as the Phoenix Suns will definitely be losing him as an asset in a possible KD trade.

Kyrie may have only one realistic destination in mind for now but KD’s options are way broader. With the Nets making all the decisions in this situation, all they can do is wait for a team to impress Brooklyn enough. If KD isn’t moved, Kyrie won’t be moved, so all eyes will continue looking at the situation in Brooklyn even if the movement on a possible KD trade has slowed down considerably.
