NBA Rumors: Clippers And Lakers Want Marcus Morris

2 Min Read

Though not the most groundbreaking name in trade talks this season, Marcus Morris is generating interesting by two of the biggest franchises in the NBA, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.

Morris is one of the most valuable veterans on the trade market at the moment. He’s shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc and on a one-year deal. The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly keeping an eye on Morris. Opposing execs expect both Los Angeles teams to monitor the market for Morris as well.

As a 6-8, 235 pound forward, Morris is exactly the type of player that every team is looking for. He can add depth on the wing and play both sides of the ball.

Unfortunately, with the veteran guard in New York, it is unlikely he will come cheap. After striking out on multiple free agents in the summer, Morris was one of the Knicks’ biggest signings. Through 33 games, it’s also fair to say he’s been one of their best signings.

This season, Morris is averaging 19 points and 5.5 rebounds on 43% shooting and 46% shooting from beyond the arc. As a big man veteran who can play defense and stretch the floor, he’d be a valuable asset for a contending team.

What any particular team is willing to give up for him, however, is still a mystery waiting to be unraveled.
