Damian Lillard wants to wear a Miami Heat jersey so badly, but the Portland Trail Blazers just won’t trade him to the squad. With this saga dragging out for the last two months, Lillard has stood firm on wanting to play for the Heat.

His latest Instagram story reflects the same, as Lillard reposted a fan story that said that Miami is waiting for his music.

The Blazers do not want to send Lillard to the Heat and have been trying to find alternative destinations. Lillard and his camp have been adamant about ending up in Miami, so it seems this stalemate will likely bleed into the start of the season.

Should The Blazers Honor Damian Lillard’s Request?

Damian Lillard has done everything he could do for the Blazers. Even last season, he fought very hard to keep the Blazers in the hunt for a playoff spot and averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the season. He’s a club legend, and teams often honor the requests of club legends.

The Heat trade package isn’t good enough for a player of Dame’s caliber. But after everything Lillard did for the franchise by sticking true even when the entire world wanted him to request a trade, they should do right by him.

The NBA is a business, something James Harden is grappling with after being lied to by Daryl Morey. It seems Lillard is learning a similar lesson.
