Domantas Sabonis is widely viewed as one of the best power forwards in the league. Although he is on a tanking Pacers team, the Lithuanian big man has had a productive year, averaging 19.1 PPG, 12.1 RPG, and 5.0 APG.

It was reported earlier in the year that the Indiana Pacers would be willing to move on from their veteran players such as Caris LeVert, Domantas Sabonis, and Myles Turner to start a rebuilding process. The Pacers are currently 13th in the Eastern Conference, and it’s obvious that blowing up this roster could be beneficial for the team.

There’s no doubt that Domantas Sabonis’ play has warranted trade interest from other teams. Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report has recently revealed that the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Washington Wizards are teams that have “significant interest” in trading for Sabonis.

League personnel say the Pacers are seeking a package similar to or greater than the haul Nikola Vucevic drew for the Orlando Magic last season. Only Sacramento, New Orleans and Washington have been linked by league personnel as Sabonis suitors with significant interest.

There is no doubt that all of these teams could use Domantas Sabonis. The Kings, Pelicans, and Wizards are all fighting for a play-in tournament spot right now, and a talent infusion would definitely help each of those teams’ chances. There is no question that Sabonis can be a difference-maker.

We’ll see whether Domantas Sabonis ends up getting traded by the deadline or not. Each of these teams has also been linked with other players. The Wizards were viewed as the favorites to land Jerami Grant, while the Pelicans have been linked with Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum. The Kings were notably in trade talks with the 76ers, but have recently pulled out of those conversations due to the asking price. There’s certainly a myriad of moves that those teams could make, but acquiring Domants Sabonis would be far from being the worst option.
