NBA Rumors: Knicks Have Emerged As Serious Contenders To Trade For Andre Drummond

1 Min Read

With the New York Knicks scrambling to secure a playoff spot in the East, we can expect them to be among the most active teams in tomorrow’s deadline.

With Julius Randle and RJ Barrett being the only real untouchables, there are a number of different targets they can make a play for.

According to Kevin O’Connor, one player they could land is Cleveland’s Andre Drummond, who is expected to be one of the many names on the block Thursday.

Drummond is often criticized for his old-school skillset. A traditional big man, Dre makes his presence known around the rim and on the glass. And while he’s slow and no good from distance, he’s the best in the game at what he does — with averages of 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game on 47% shooting.

In New York, he could be a solid pairing next to Julius Randle, and someone who could bolster their presence in the paint.

The question is, can the Knicks out-bid the others? With multiple teams in pursuit, it’ll be interesting to see what the Knicks are willing to cough up in their bid to get him.
