NBA Rumors: Raptors Could Trade For Kevin Love

2 Min Read

With the Cleveland Cavaliers in a full rebuild, the status of their long-time franchise star Kevin Love has been under increasing doubt. With February’s trade deadline looming, and the Cavs desperately searching for their next young superstar, Love’s time with the franchise is believed to be nearing its end.

The bigger question now is where he might end up, as a number of teams have expressed interest in trading for the 5x All-Star.

According to sources, one of those teams is the Toronto Raptors, who have a bit of history with Love and the Cavs.

“The Raptors could be active everywhere. They have the expiring contracts. They have the intriguing young players. They have the future draft picks. They could probably pluck Toronto native Tristan Thompson out of Cleveland anytime they wanted. If they got aggressive, they might be able to quickly cut a deal for Kevin Love, too. Versatile wings like Holiday and Robert Covington could be in play.”

So, the Raptors are on the market for frontcourt depth. Following the departure of Kawhi Leonard this past summer, it makes sense that they’d be looking for additional fire-power.

While Love is no MVP candidate, his shooting and rebounding abilities could prove invaluable for Toronto. He’s averaging 16 points and 10.5 rebounds on 45% shooting this season.
