Brittany Renner is an internet personality who was dating the Mavericks’ forward P.J. Washington early in his career. They had a baby boy together in 2021, and following their split, the child support for their son has been the primary bone of contention between the former couple.

According to documents revealed by TMZ Sports, P.J. Washington was ordered by the court to pay $5,500 per month for child support to Renner. But as per sources, Renner thinks that amount is not enough. Following the Mavericks forward’s $90 million extension with the Mavericks, Renner reportedly has increased her demand for child support to $35,000, just because the previous amount was not enough.

Renner reportedly said she “cannot afford the high cost of living given the current child support orders” and she’s “struggling to make ends meet,” in a filing to a court earlier this week, per TMZ.  She also alleged that Washington does not exercise more than half the visitation hours he is entitled to, thus adding more responsibility to Renner’s shoulders.

“I cannot provide [our son] a life anywhere similar to that of his father,” Renner reportedly wrote in the documents. She claims Washington and his new partner “have multiple luxury vehicles, constantly post their designer shopping clothes, and boast about luxury vacations. They also constantly post their children wearing designer clothing,” Renner wrote in the documents. “In contrast, I live in a humble Airbnb rental in West Hills and shop for [our son’s] clothes at Target.”

In addition, Renner also demanded that Washington pay $50,000 to her attorney for his fees. She has reportedly made the same demand before as well, and seems to have gotten it in her favor the last time, as Washington was ordered to pay $130,000 lump sum as a part of payment for attorney’s fees and apparent child support arrears.

Earlier, it was reported that Renner claimed Washington had no arrears on his child support payments, yet a video went viral earlier this summer where she was seen shouting at Washington for not providing enough for his son.

It is noteworthy that this change in demands has come just days after Washington signed a four-year, $90 million extension with the Mavericks. He averaged 14.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 38.1% from beyond the three-point arc to earn this extension.

Washington moved on in his life and started dating Alisah Chanel after leaving Renner. He then went on to propose to her and marry her in October 2023. And while he is trying to start a new life and family with his wife, his past keeps coming back to knock at his door in different ways.
