Stephen Curry is a family man before anything else. For him, it seems any slight at his family is equivalent to a slight at him. Especially when it comes to his life-partner, Ayesha Curry, who has been married to the Warriors superstar for more than 14 years and is the mother of his four children.

Killer Mike, a renowned rapper whose real name is Michael Santiago Render, recently took a dig at Ayesha Curry, which did not sit well with Stephen Curry. Subsequently, the rapper has now issued a public apology for disrespecting Curry and his wife.

“Steph Curry! Ayesha Curry! Boy, my wife has cussed me out. My oldest daughter called me. My youngest daughter called me. My homeboys who have played in the NBA called me. And I realized that maybe I shouldn’t smoke marijuana and get on Instagram. So let me say this, cause I appreciate you checking it—it shows you have a tremendous amount of respect for me. I just told the comedian to go easy on Steph, and my home girl told me how that could be misread.”

“So Steph, let me say, man, since my favorite player ever turned me on to you, Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bean Bryant told me you were the guy to follow. You’ve heard this story before; you have been my guy. The only time I don’t cheer for you is when you’re playing against the Hawks, cause the Hawks are my guys. Shout out to Ice Trey.”

“But I got to say, first and foremost, Mrs. Ayesha Curry and her husband Steph, I apologize for my statement being misconstrued. I was just stoned, trying to make a joke out of what’s on that. It wasn’t my damn business, like my wife said. So I’m sorry, y’all,” said the rapper on NFL veteran Shannon Sharpe’s podcast.

It all started when a TikTok user posted a video of Ayesha Curry from her vacation with her friends, commenting on how she wants to be like the rapper GloRilla and claimed that the mother of four never missed a chance to “embarrass her husband.” Subsequently, Killer Mike saw this video on Instagram and reportedly commented on Curry and his wife.

“My n***a said she wanna go be Glo!!! Man, Steph doesn’t deserve the embarrassment [for real]. God bless him,” wrote Mike. Following this, Curry saw this comment and did not mince his words in a comment that he has now deleted from the post.

“@killermike naaaaa not you Mike, I’m cool staying silent and letting these other clowns have [their] moment! And you’re the worst of them @boowoodz234. But you’re better than that, @killermike. Stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like he is. We’re good over here,” wrote Curry.

Hence, the Grammy award-winning rapper had no option but to issue a public apology to the Warriors superstar on the latest episode of the Club Shay Shay podcast. It will be interesting to see if the Warriors superstar and his wife find it within themselves to forgive him as the Warriors superstar prepares for the start of the NBA’s 2025-26 regular season.
