Cooper Flagg is one of the most highly touted prospects heading into the 2025 NBA Draft. With the consensus viewing him as the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, NBA legend Allen Iverson also showed love to the Duke star. In attendance for the Fanatics Fest, Iverson gave recognition to Flagg and said:

“That’s a bad dude right there. That’s a bad guy.”

Iverson proceeded to dap up the NBA prospect, checking in on him and wishing him luck ahead of the draft. Before parting ways with the young star, Iverson said:

“Good luck, man. I love watching you play, man.”

“That’s a bad dude right there.”

In what could have been a starstruck fan moment for Flagg, fans on X saw a recognition of the Duke forward’s potential by Iverson. Claiming that each dap came with a purpose, adding that Flagg had “knighted” in some way, fans certainly found a way to hype up the interaction between the two.

Regardless, the Duke forward will be the talk of the town after the events of Game 7 of the NBA Finals. With the NBA Draft positioned as the biggest event of the offseason, the talented prospects of this year’s crop will gather in one place to begin their NBA careers.

Kyrie Irving Shares Excitement For Next Season With Mavericks Fans

Dallas Mavericks fans have a lot to be excited about next season, particularly with the No. 1 pick in the draft in their possession. With a fair wind in their sails after a rather tumultuous end to the season, Kyrie Irving also shared the excitement for the new season with the fan base. He said:

“It’s an exciting time to be a Dallas Mavericks fan. Shout-out to MFFL, all the supporters that are rocking with us. Getting this No. 1 pick, we had a 1.8% chance. So, I loved it, I enjoyed seeing all the excitement, not only from the city, but from our executive leadership, from our ownership group, from my teammates.”

“This is one of those times, not only in my career, but just in the legacy of playing in the Dallas Mavericks, where we have the chance to do something special… It’s been up and down, so to say, just in terms of the circumstances and the situations, but we’ve been doing our best. I’ve been doing my best, and I’m one of the leaders in the team, so I’ve got to stay stoic, stay poised, stay ready for the moment, be ready to articulate what’s going on, and be ready to move forward.”

Irving’s excitement is necessary for the Mavericks fan base. The notion of selecting Cooper Flagg, a potential franchise cornerstone, is enough to carry Mavs fans through the season. But the trade rumors about adding key reinforcements promise a more competitive outing in the upcoming campaign.

Unfortunately, a large section of the regular season will have to be played with Irving on the court. With the star guard sidelined till at least January, the Mavs are likely to look at the pairing of Anthony Davis and Flagg to carry the team till Irving makes his return.
