Derrick Rose Is Shooting Better From 3 Than Steph And Kyrie

It really has been a treat to witness the resurgence of former NBA MVP Derrick Rose.

After a couple of rough, injury-laden seasons, the point-guard has recovered to average 19.3 points per game on 50% shooting. He’s probably the leading candidate for Sixth Man Of The Year.

So sure, Rose is back and playing well. But in the midst of this stellar performance, we’re not actually seeing the same player we saw back in 2011.

This is a different DRose, one that is out-shooting some of the NBA’s best three-point shooters.

He has surprisingly been one of the NBA’s most efficient players from downtown this season, with his 49.4 percentage ranking ahead in 3PT% of guys including Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Kyle Korver, Danny Green, James Harden, Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, and Jimmy Butler, just to name a few.

And with 38 total makes for the season, while that’s lower than some of the others, it’s not like the sample size is inadequate.

Point is, for a player that made his money driving to the rim, being able to adapt and change his game after so many career hurdles says a lot about how hard this guy has worked.
