Stephen Curry and the Warriors suffered yet another disappointing loss to the Clippers. Playing in the Intuit Dome, the Warriors made things real nervy in the final seconds, but couldn’t tie things up, losing 102-99. This marks the third loss for the Warriors this season, and their second to the Clippers this season.

Curry was sensational in the game, putting up 26 points (10-21 FG), seven rebounds, six assists, and one block. Andrew Wiggins also played well, with 22 points (7-12 FG), three rebounds, and one block. Jonathan Kuminga delivered another solid performance from the bench, putting up 12 points (5-10 FG), two rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Norman Powell was once again the star of the show for the Clippers, putting up 23 points (9-15 FG), one rebound, and one steal. James Harden had a disappointing outing, with 12 points (4-15 FG), but did deliver 16 assists, along with six rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Warriors fans were upset once again after seeing their team get toppled by the Clippers. A lot of the blame was directed towards Gary Payton II, who missed the shot to tie the game in the final seconds. But overall, there was disappointment over seeing their team’s strong run.

“Warriors turned into a bunch of comedians with the game on the line LMFAO.”

“Didn’t like that Steph shot. We had a timeout as well.”

“2 of the 3 warrior losses have come to the Clippers in 24 tears.”

“Missing free throws cost the Warriors the game tonight.”

“Warriors relying on Curry too damn much. He got 3 people chasing him and Draymond still forcing passes to him so he can shoot.”

“OF COURSE CURRY MISSED LMFAO THEN PASSED TO HEILD AFTER BRICKING, MOST FEARLESS SUPERSTAR IN THE CLUTCH.”

“Gary Payton II to tie the game, I belly laughed n***a oh my days.”

“I’m really dying because in August, Steph was doubled and had KD and Bron wide open and still chucked that motherf**ker but in November, he’s passing out to Gary Payton II.”

“Gary Payton II had the nerves to rake that shot?????”

“Gary Payton II had a Carlton moment. That pass was not for him lol.”

“Bro why is Gary Payton II shooting get it to Lindy Waters WTF!!!”

Warriors fans are definitely upset about the loss, especially considering how close their team made the game before the final shot. But they are understandably not catastrophizing the loss, as they are still one of the top teams in the Western Conference, even if they may have fallen behind the Thunder in the standings to the second seed.

Golden State Warriors Still Thriving

The loss will certainly raise concerns for the Warriors. They will have to go back and watch the game tape against the Clippers to understand why that team has been their kryptonite this season. But they shouldn’t make too many changes, as things have been working for them, and they are still one of the better teams in the league.

The Warriors are top five in the NBA for offensive rating, with a score of 116.7, which puts them fifth in the league. This prowess is also present on the defensive end of the court, as they have a defensive rating of 107.4, which ranks fourth in the NBA.

A loss like this can hurt morale, but Steve Kerr should address the problems from tonight’s game while making sure that the Warriors retain their positive habits. With a top-five offense and defense in the league, the Warriors are set to make a big run this year and push for the NBA championship if they can sustain this.

The Warriors shouldn’t get too down on themselves after this loss, as they have to face the Hawks at home on Wednesday night at 10 PM EST. It will be a test of the Warriors’ mettle, as they must bounce back after what was a disappointing loss to the Clippers.
