LeBron James might be one of the best to ever do it, but to many, he is a very polarizing figure. There are a lot of fans, whether justified or not, that hate LeBron, and continuously target him. James being undermined by NBA fans is common, but some users on Reddit had enough when a fan pointed to a disrespectful graphic that worked to diminish all of his accomplishments in the NBA.
Jordan is my GOAT but I hate how others belittle LeBron’s achievements just to prove MJ is better.

The post garnered over 1000 comments, with many pointing out how ridiculous some of the criteria listed on the graphic were, such as loyalty. Fans pointed out that a lot of the player comparisons and attributes were cherry-picked to try and build a case against LeBron James and try to undermine everything he has done up to this point in his NBA career.
“How much ‘loyalty’ does Curry have?”
“LOL everyone is behind Westbrook in triple-doubles!”
“They’re all behind him on Instagram followers.”
“While I think Jordan is the goat, I find these criticisms (or whatever this is) to actually show LeBron’s greatness. It just means he’s competing in every category as in he’s that great.”
“Out of the 8 categories that these memes talk about… Jordan would be “behind” five of the categories as well… So what the f**k is the point?”
“My first thought exactly. The fact he’s being compared in every category means he is some sort of touchstone for all marks of greatness.”
“LeBron is the most well-rounded player of all time. Virtually elite at everything. Not even a jack-of-all-trades type player. He is a master of all trades.”
“Only sport where people sh*t on other all-time greats to try to prove a point.”
“One of Bron’s main supporting arguments is how well-rounded he is and this argument attacks his lack of being the greatest at one particular aspect, which isn’t an appropriate attack on his GOAT case considering the aforementioned supporting argument used to claim that he is the GOAT.”
“Ironically, this post does the reverse if everyone puts on their critical thinking hat. Look how long the list is. The hater had to find so many ways to attack LeBron, goes to show how many top 5 categories LeBron is in. Do you know how insane that is? The other players on this list aren’t in as many top 5’s and I bet LeBron is in the top 3 in a lot of them.”
“People also talk about how MJ had to deal with hand-check defense, while LeBron doesn’t- as if the 6’9″ 260lb player would have struggled with guards hand-checking him. If anything, LeBron would have dominated defense more if he had been allowed to hand check.”
LeBron James is without a doubt one of the two greatest players in NBA history. He and Michael Jordan are regarded as the best ever, with fans getting into hair-pulling debates online about who is better. Personally, in this writer’s opinion, your preference for either is a matter of subjectivity, as their stats back both players’ positions as GOATS.
James has won almost everything in the NBA. He is a four-time NBA Champion and Finals MVP, four-time regular-season MVP, and an NBA Cup winner and Cup MVP. He has also earned 21 All-Star nominations, 20 All-NBA nominations, and six All-Defensive nominations.
On top of this, he is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, both in the regular season and the playoffs, ranks in the top 10 all-time for assists (fourth), steals (sixth), field goals made (second), three-pointers made (seventh), and has the most playoff appearances in NBA history.
You are allowed to dislike him. That’s completely fine. But to pretend that James isn’t one of, if not the most decorated player in history is an absolute lie. And no amount of diminishing his accomplishments or comparing him to other players with cherry-picked stats is going to change that.
