LeBron James spoke about his son Bronny now being part of the Lakers. He hilariously noted that his wife, Savannah, who never plays video games, actually opened NBA 2K25 to play as Bronny James in the practice arena, as she was in shock after seeing her son in the video game.

“I have a video on my phone of Savannah [James] playing NBA 2K. He hasn’t seen this. She does not play video games, but she went into practice mode and played with her son. She was playing with Bronny. I said ‘Okay, this is what it takes to get you on a video game?’. It was just super cool. We’re all just proud of, everybody in our family obviously, Bronny.”

James then shared the video on social media of Savannah playing the practice mode of NBA 2K25 with Bronny James.

It must have been such a surreal moment for Savannah James to see her oldest son in a video game. While seeing her family members in video games is nothing new to her, given that her husband LeBron James has been in the NBA 2K and EA NBA Live games for decades now, to see her son in the same game would have been really special.

LeBron James and Bronny will be excited to play with each other, as they become the first father-son duo in NBA history to play together. The expectation is that the James dynasty will take to the court together on opening night against the Timberwolves, after which Bronny will spend most of his time in the G-League.

As for LeBron, he will shift his focus to the Lakers and try and help the franchise get back on track after a turbulent few years. Playing under new head coach JJ Redick, the Lakers will face a tough challenge in the Western Conference to try and secure a playoff spot.

LeBron James: “Pure Joy To Play With Bronny”

LeBron James also addressed the press at Lakers’ media day. When talking about how he feels about playing with Bronny James, LeBron was nothing but positive about it, claiming that it was a pure joy to be able to share the court with his son.

“It’s a lot of excitement, pure joy to be honest. Come to work every day, put in the work, hard work with your son. To be able to see him continue to grow. We push each other, he pushes me, and I push him. We push our teammates and vice versa.”

“It’s a very joyous moment, not just for myself, but for our family, starting here today with media day. Been to a couple of photo booths, and did an interview… Pretty awesome… Especially when you’re around young guys… To be able to be around him, he’s 19 years old, he’ll be 20 soon in October, it just gives you more life.”

You can tell how excited James is over the prospect of playing with his son. And that is completely understandable given the relationship the two share, and the health struggles Bronny faced over the last year.

It will be a special moment for the James family when LeBron and Bronny share the court together, on opening night against the Timberwolves.
