Michelle Beadle Once Ate A Textbook On National Television After LeBron James’ 3-1 Comeback Against The Warriors

Michelle Beadle may be criticizing LeBron James and Bronny again, but she did regret doing it in the past, as she had to eat a textbook on television for doubting LeBron.

Michelle Beadle has been in the headlines once again recently, as she called out LeBron James and Bronny for ‘manufacturing’ a moment when they shared the court together as teammates for the first time, during the Lakers‘ 110-103 win over the Timberwolves. Beadle believed it was an inauthentic display and was not a fan of seeing the father and son in the Lakers colors on Tuesday night.

Some wondered where Beadle’s criticism might be coming from, but there is a history of animosity between the two. In fact, Beadle once claimed during the 2016 NBA Finals that if LeBron James was able to overcome a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors, she would eat a textbook.

As we know all these years later, that’s exactly what happened. James’ incredible comeback gave the Cavaliers their only NBA championship in history. And to her credit, Beadle stuck to her word and ate pages of a textbook on national television, even jokingly remarking that the taste was not that bad.

“Eating a book! It’s not that bad.”

LeBron really made her eat a textbook on national television. I’d be mad too.

As mentioned before, Beadle has a history of being a harsh critic of LeBron James. Perhaps this stems from Beadle’s claim that LeBron James tried on numerous occasions to get her fired from ESPN. In fact, Beadle once claimed that James even reached out to her privately to ask why she was mean to him on television.

Beadle’s animosity toward LeBron can be understood, even if it leads her to make incorrect and incendiary comments about him. But why she is choosing to go after his son, Bronny, is unclear. Unlike LeBron (allegedly), Bronny has done nothing against Michelle Beadle and doesn’t warrant the criticism aimed at him.

It would be one thing if she was critiquing him as a player, but going after him for seemingly making a display and a big deal for living out his childhood dream of playing with his father is out of line.

Bronny And LeBron James Achieved Greatness

Despite what Michelle Beadle might say, there is no denying what a historic moment it was to see LeBron James and Bronny share the court together as teammates. They became the first father-son duo in NBA history to play as teammates in the league, something that will not soon be replicated.

LeBron played well, delivering 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks, shooting 7-16 from the field and 1-4 from beyond the arc. Bronny James, who only got to play for three minutes, wasn’t able to do much during the time he was on the court. Bronny put up 0 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 0 blocks, and 0 steals while going 0-2 in field goals and 0-1 from the three.

The pair were greeted before the game by another legendary father-son sports duo, as MLB legends Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. were in attendance at the Crypto.com arena. The Griffeys accomplished the same feat as the James’ in the MLB and were the last father-son duo to do so before LeBron and Bronny.

With their big moment now in the rearview mirror, both LeBron and Bronny will shift their focus. Bronny is expected to eventually join the Lakers’ G-League team so that he can focus on his development there. Whereas LeBron and the Lakers will be hoping to capitalize on their positive momentum by defeating the Phoenix Suns tonight.
