The Los Angeles Lakers came into their game tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks with a raft of rotational players unavailable. In addition to LeBron James and Rui Hachimura, their injury list also featured Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Dorian Finney-Smith, leaving JJ Redick with a small set of available players to rely upon, including Bronny James.
Bronny received real rotational minutes and excelled, scoring 17 points and leading the team in scoring alongside Dalton Knecht. While the Lakers were blown out 118-89, fans were excited to see Bronny finally show signs of being a legitimate NBA player.
It started with this incredible highlight when Bronny almost shook Giannis Antetokounmpo and scored on the former DPOY, however, Giannis fouled Bronny before letting him complete the play.
The fact that Giannis got crossed up by bronny and got blown by so bad that he grabbed his shoulder and still no foul was called is nasty work pic.twitter.com/Rpu1hLVuMH

“Ben Simmons was supposed to leap LeBron, now Bronny just passed him in 3PM lmfaoo,” said one fan about Bronny officially crossing Ben Simmons in the all-time three-point charts.
“Bronny has only played 21 NBA games to Ben Simmons’ 373,” said one fan pointing out how insane it is that Bronny has already achieved this.
“Bronny haters switching up right now,” said Josiah Johnson now that Bronny is unquestionably proving his worth as an NBA player.
“Bronny deserves a ton of credit for the work he has put in this season. The ‘he isn’t an NBA prospect’ takes are severely outdated at this point,” said another impressed fan.
“LeBron looking at Stephen A. Smith right now watching Bronny look better than 1st round pick Dalton Knecht,” said another fan about Stephen A. and LeBron’s recent beef over Bronny.
“Bronny is ahead of whatever developmental schedule I thought he’d be on,” said another fan impressed with how quickly he’s progressed through the season.
Bronny’s NBA averages improved to 2.3 points this season on 35.4% from the field and 26.9% from three. So far, a game like this has been the exception for LeBron’s son in the NBA. It’s time he makes them the norm, otherwise, the momentum from tonight’s performance will wane and fans will forget he showed the signs he did tonight.
He’s still a rough offensive prospect and will likely never be an on-ball No. 1 option in the NBA. However, he showed flashes of great defense with a reliable jumper and ball-handling tonight. If he can build upon this outing, the sky really might be the limit.
With JJ Redick expecting players like LeBron James and Rui Hachimura back on Saturday for their game against the Chicago Bulls, it seems like the Lakers will have most of their playing rotation back and in preparation for a Playoff run.
Bronny might not get an opportunity like tonight again this season, so it’s great that he maximized it.
