LeBron James put on one of the worst performances of his career tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Playing in the Lakers‘ 109-80 loss to the Timberwolves, James put up just 10 points (4-16 FG), eight rebounds, and four assists, while creating six turnovers, and going 0-4 from beyond the arc.

This has been a dire run for LeBron James, which started a few games ago when he wasn’t able to make three-pointers. James has missed his last 24 attempts from the three-point line across five games. And to see his run continue in such a way has been disappointing, especially as it cost the Lakers in a major way tonight.

The Lakers were embarrassed by the Timberwolves, losing by 29 points against a Timberwolves who just recently went on a four-game losing streak. JJ Redick will be beside himself after this loss.

NBA fans reacted in droves about James’ disasterclass. Many expressed their disappointment, not just for his performance, but for what looks like a slump that might indicate the beginning of the end of his career. While others criticized him for his terrible outing tonight.

“Seems like the actual downfall of LeBron James might finally be here.”

“Father Time finally caught up to LeBron.”

“LeBron James and Bronny gonna be the first father-son duo to play a g league game together.”

“This isn’t LeBron James man…”

“For the first time in my life, LeBron James actually looks human.”

“Bum-a** LeBron James couldn’t do crap tonight. If I hear someone ever say this guy is better than Michael Jordan. Cause he ain’t and will never be!!!”

“Damn LeBron James has fallen off Max Kellermans Cliff.”

“LeBron James is the GOAT but it might be that time gang.”

LeBron James has concerned a lot of people with his last four games. In the last four games, James has averaged 16.3 points, 8.8 assists 7.8 rebounds, 0.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game while shooting 38.7% from the field, 0.0% from the three-point line, and 77.8% from the free-throw line.

Could this be it for LeBron James? Has Father Time truly caught up to him? He turns 40 years old at the end of this month. James has done an excellent job outpacing time and his own body for years now. But it is clear that he is starting to slow down. Whether this is just a slump or the beginning of the end, it is clear that James is not the player he once was in his prime.

The King has had an incredible career. But he has also shown this season that he can be a star player. It is very possible this is just a poor run of form. But it would behoove LeBron James to turn things around sooner rather than later.

The Lakers play on Wednesday at 7:30 PM EST, as they play against the Heat in Miami. Perhaps playing in the building where he had the best years of his career will help James recover his form and go on a strong run with the Lakers.
