It has been a while since we’ve seen Jamal Murray dominate a basketball court, but he seems to be in good spirits as he ramps up for his return.

On Thursday, the Nuggets guard was filmed by his friend and Rams receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. In the clip, he trolls Murray (who is shirtless in the pic) by calling him ‘Jamal Furray’ in honor of all the hair on his chest.

It’s a pretty funny moment between two high-profile athletes. It’s also cool that Murray was able to laugh off being roasted like that.

All-in-all, it’s just good to see the star guard smiling again after enduring rigorous rehab for the past year. In previous conversations with the media, he has detailed just how grueling the process has been for him.

“I have to feel good to play. Not much else I can say,” said Murray. “I have some really great days where there’s no soreness and I feel like I can go. Then you have the days right after that where it’s like… I’m just not there yet. Those days are really tough, because on those good days I’m on my high horse for the future. And then, those slow days, it’s tough to see the future after that.”

He also said that his climb back to the court has been a learning experience.

“It’s been a learning experience and a test of patience,” Murray told HoopsHype. “Everything happens for a reason. I learned a lot, and I’m excited to be back out there. A championship mindset, a winning attitude, and raising everybody’s level of play. That’s what I do best.”

The Nuggets struggled without him this season, falling flat in the playoffs when they need him the most. But with Murray healthy and ready to go, things could change very quickly for Denver and they could soon re-take their place as contenders in the West.

In the meantime, Murray is going to keep on smiling and living his best life as he works to ensure a seamless transition back to basketball.
