Russell Westbrook is not enjoying living out his childhood dream of being a Los Angeles Laker. The hometown kid was acquired by the team last offseason but had an absolutely dreadful season where the Lakers ended up missing the postseason altogether. The Lakers have been taking a step back every season since their championship win in 2020.
A popular Lakers-related account on Twitter criticized the front office of the team for abandoning the championship core they had for the 2020-21 season. In the same tweet, the account also criticized Jeanie Buss for appearing in the NBA 2K23 trailer and calling Michael Jordan the greatest player of all time.
Russell Westbrook was scrolling through Twitter and seemed to have liked the post criticizing the owner of the team he plays for. After the account shared a screenshot of Westbrook liking the tweet, the point guard unliked the tweet, and it has since disappeared from the list of his liked tweets.

Westbrook has every right to be upset with Jeanie Buss and the Lakers front office. He has been scapegoated by the franchise for last season’s performances. While Westbrook did fail to impress, the front office chose the worst possible supporting cast by signing a bunch of players who are 30-year-olds or older and weren’t durable enough for the full season. That’s why most of them are currently out of the league.
Complimenting Michael Jordan isn’t something anyone should be upset at. Even if LeBron is on the Lakers, Jeanie Buss can share her candid opinion on who’s the GOAT, as most people still lean towards Jordan in that debate.
Westbrook is probably going to be traded away from the team, especially with the Lakers wanting to attach their final first-round picks to get a trade to improve their depth. If Russ ends up being moved before the season, it’ll be best for everyone, considering how the relationships in LA have soured.
