The front office of the Los Angeles Lakers had a whole lot of criticism come their way for the job they did in the offseason. None of their free-agent signings really inspired confidence, and they didn’t seem like a great fit either.

While some of them have disappointed, two are really starting to shine. Both Thomas Bryant and Dennis Schroder missed the first 13 games of the season, and as time has gone by, they’re really starting to get going. They were highly impressive during the Lakers’ 5-game winning run, and when asked what they have meant to the team, Russell Westbrook was full of praise for them.

(starts at 0:47 mark):

“Mean a lot, man. They are both talented players, they’ve proven themselves in this league. Had some ups and downs in their careers but I think it’s great to see Dennis and Thomas and those guys do so well. It really just brings me a lot of joy to see them doing well consistently. It’s just great for our team.”

Westbrook has always spoken about how much joy he gets from watching his teammates do well, and it is the case here as well. Bryant, in particular, has done a fine job of filling in for the injured Anthony Davis. Even though the Lakers saw their winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Denver Nuggets, Bryant had another good game, finishing with 17 points and 10 rebounds. With Davis nearing a return as well, the Lakers might well have quite a formidable frontcourt at their disposal.

LeBron James Has Had Visions Of A Dominant Frontcourt

LeBron James hasn’t been happy that the front office hasn’t made moves this season, but he is thrilled to see Bryant play so well. He called him one of the most skilled big men in the league and added that he has had visions of a dominant frontcourt of himself, Bryant, and Davis.

They certainly would look great together and would be a headache to deal with for the opposition. The Lakers are undoubtedly trending upward, and it is now time for the front office to help push them even higher.
