  • Shaquille O’Neal became a target for Jay Pharoah during the Inside The NBA roast
  • The comedian hilariously mocked the way Shaquille O’Neal speaks to his face
  • Shaquille O’Neal found the entire bit funny and was laughing throughout

Shaquille O’Neal is one of the funniest NBA personalities around, no one jokes around as much as the Big Diesel. He regularly tears it up on Inside The NBA with Charles Barkley, making fun of his co-hosts as well as the players they are talking about.

So when it was the crew’s time to get roasted instead of generate the laughs, Shaquille O’Neal was among those laughing the hardest. Jay Pharoah made an incredible impression of the big man to his face during the Inside The NBA roast.

“They asked me not to go too hard at Shaq tonight,” Pharoah said. “But I figured that out on my own. We shook hands, and my feet left the ground.”

Pharoah then explained that he’s been impersonating Shaquille O’Neal for so long he can tell what the big man is thinking. He then did an impression of Shaq, saying, “All my friends are saying mean things. Hurt my feelings.”

He went on, saying, “Shaq a big, strong man outside, but soft inside. Shaq hate bullies. Everyone is calling Shaq dumb. But Shaq not dumb. I have a doctorate.

“Charles is the dumb one. Charles probably think doctorate is a girl doctor. Shaq a boy doctor.”

The whole bit was made even funnier by the fact that Jay Pharoah got Shaquille O’Neal’s manner of speaking and delivery quite right. It made for hilarious content, and it’s no wonder that the big man himself was laughing so hard.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Story With Will Ferrell Shows He Has No Problem Being The Butt Of A Joke

Shaquille O’Neal sometimes gets trolled for being sensitive and not being able to take a joke. But that’s not true, as he has shown time and time again.

Actor Will Ferrell once told the story of how O’Neal had the idea of getting thrown out of a Lakers’ game at the stadium by Ferrell.

“And one of his guys is like, ‘Shaq thought that was hilarious. During the next timeout, do you want to throw him out of the game? Cuz he’s ready to leave.’ And I go, ‘Oh, that’s genius, yeah. I’ll stand up and I’ll pretend.’ So the next time that I stood up, I kept looking over at Shaq.

“He’s looking and he’s like… So I look at him like, ‘Hey, no, no, please…’ And then, he keeps getting my attention, he’s not doing anything. And I’m finally like, that’s it, let’s go, and I throw him out of the game. And then Shaq and I are hugging each other. And he’s like, ‘You can throw me out any time. That’s hilarious.'”

Shaquille O’Neal is an entertainer at heart, and even if the laughs are at his expense, he is never averse to engaging.

Shaquille O’Neal Is The Furthest Thing From Being Dumb

Being 7’1 and massive and having made a career playing sports, Shaquille O’Neal often has to deal with people making fun of his intelligence.

But the big man is anything but dumb. Shaquille O’Neal has a doctorate, and he has achieved things in his life that not many people can claim to have.

Shaquille O’Neal is also worth upwards of $400 million, having built this massive empire while living large.

Kenny Smith once revealed how Shaquille O’Neal executes multimillion-dollar deals in breaks between shows. Shaquille O’Neal is, quite simply, built differently.

When someone knows how intelligent and accomplished they are, it makes sense that jokes of this nature wouldn’t affect them too much. Shaquille O’Neal can laugh to his heart’s content, knowing what the truth is.
