Former Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t a happy man when he saw a Top 10 list that featured him in the last rung, and the fact of the matter is that he’s absolutely right.

It’s pretty absurd that the list puts fellow Lakers icon Kobe Bryant at No. 9 and the list does feel biased. On that note, here’s a look at the list of Top 10 that puts the legendary big man at 10.

Taking to Instagram, Shaq posted an image of the list and captioned it: “Y’all agree with this. I DONT KOBE #9 and me #10 hell to the naaaaaw”

10. Shaquille O’Neal

9. Kobe Bryant

8. Tim Duncan

7. Larry Bird

6. Wilt Chamberlain

5. Magic Johnson

4. Bill Russell

3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

2. LeBron James

1. Michael Jordan

Widely regarded as one of the greatest big men of all time, Shaq is often only surpassed by Kareem or Russell, who have six and 11 titles respectively. Shaq and Kobe have four and five respectively.

From a scoring standpoint, Shaq is fifth on the list of all-time scorers, only behind James, Jordan, Kareem, and Kobe. His stellar resume aside, Shaq and Kobe also go down in league history as one of the best playoff duos of all time. They collectively led the Lakers to three straight NBA championships from 2000-02.

Making it all the more a reason that neither Shaq nor Kobe deserves to be way above the bottom rung of the list. Shaq’s comment also had some fans agreeing with him.

[Please note some of the comments are edited for the purpose of clarity]

“Facts you and Kobe top 5”

“Jordan 1 Shaq 2”

“@shaq would have obliterated Bill, Kareem, and Wilt in the post”

“You guys are way higher – both top 5”

“No, I don’t agree”

“Kobe too low”

“Kobe and Shaq should be above Lebron”

Clearly, there seems to be general disagreement even from the fans as well. All said, the list clearly needs some re-evaluation.

Where Is Shaquille O’Neal Ranked On The All-Time List?

Quite simply, the All-Time list does justice to where Shaq stands. In our list of the Top 75 all-time greatest NBA players, the four-time NBA- champ is eighth on the list. And we have our reasons.

To begin with, the numbers explain why he’s made the cut. He averaged 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks from 1,207 regular-season contests. And as far as his decorated achievements go, he is a three-time NBA Finals MVP, a 15-time All-Star, a 14-time All-NBA selection, a 3-time All-Defensive unit, a two-time scoring champion, and, to cap it all off, a Hall of Famer.

Shaq’s domination on both ends of the game, and his ability to impose his will, made him one of the deadliest players in the league during his era. So, in our estimation, Shaq deserves more praise and a better spot than what was rated of him on the list.
