Shaquille O’Neal is a man with many stories to tell. The Big Diesel is one of the most dominant players in NBA history, having a terrific career, winning four NBA championships, leaving a big mark on the game.

During his 19-year stint in the association, Shaq collected plenty of stories. One of the best involves Walmart and how he broke the record of the highest single purchase. In 2018, O’Neal joined The Late Late Show with James Corden to explain how he spent $70K in a single night at Walmart, which set the alarms for credit card companies.

“So 2 or 3 in the morning, I got to go get four or five TVs,” the former NBA star explained. “I’ve got to go get printers. I’ve got to go get laptops. I’ve got to go get appliances, sheets, towels, underwear, T-shirts. So at the end, it was $70,000.”

After his credit card declined, Shaq had a very Shaq thought, making it clear he was anything but out of money.

“I know I’m not broke,” Shaq said while Corden and the public laughed.

“So then the American Express security called me [and said], ‘Hey, man. Somebody stole your credit card and they spent $70,000 at Walmart,’” he said.

This is a great story, and only Shaq could do something like this. The former Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers player has a lot of stories similar to this one. He has made a lot of money after his NBA career finished and he’s always trying to help people.

A couple of weeks ago, he went to a local jewelry store and helped a young man pay for his engagement ring in a very touching moment. He has been doing these things for a while now and purchasing many products to feel as comfortable as possible, breaking records in the process.
