Shaquille O’Neal Takes A Shot At The Lakers, Says He Prefers To Watch Stephen Curry: “Who Want To Watch Them People Play?”

Shaquille O’Neal, a 3-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, is not entertained by the 2021/22 version of the Purple and Gold. They have struggled to win this season, and the big man isn’t happy with the things happening at Staples Center this campaign.

Instead, he’s focusing his attention on different teams and players, enjoying the high level the Golden State Warriors are displaying right now. The Big Diesel has become a big fan of Stephen Curry, who he called his favorite player recently, saying Curry proved him wrong during all these years.

The Warriors have done great so far, prompting O’Neal to root for him and ignore the Lakers. During a recent edition of his “The Big Podcast with Shaq,” the 4x NBA champion took a big shot at the Lakers, saying he’s not interested in watching them, and instead he watches Curry.

Talking about the Staples Center changing its name to Crypto.com Arena, O’Neal explained he’s not going to the building anymore. Asked if he would come back there, O’Neal took a shot at his former team.

“No, I’m not,” O’Neal said. “Who want to watch them people play?”

With the Lakers struggling to get things going this campaign, Shaq explained that he’s rooting and excited for another Californian team, the Warriors. He credited Stephen Curry and his exciting performances.

“I don’t celebrate seventh place at all,” O’Neal said. “I celebrate Steph Curry. That’s who I celebrate. I can go to Golden State and watch him play.”

These are big shots at the Lakers from one of their greatest players ever. Shaq has made it clear he’s unhappy with the team’s recent form and wants them to be better. Recently, he went off on Anthony Davis, urging him to be a dominant player again to save the team’s season.

It’s not only AD he’s unhappy with. The entire Lakers team is underperforming and O’Neal wants to see something good before he returns to the arena that saw him win three championships.
