The NBA is currently full of talented players in all positions. More importantly, there are a plethora of incredibly skilled young players who have already started to dominate the league.
Players like Ja Morant or Luka Doncic usually come to mind when we talk about players under age 25 who will rule the league in the future. But there’s another player who fans have high expectations from.
We are talking about none other than the New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson. When he was drafted first overall by the Pelicans in the 2019 NBA Draft, he was expected to make an instant impact on the franchise.
Unfortunately, fans are yet to see that impact from Zion. The biggest reason behind that is the fact that the 22-year-old has missed a lot of games due to injuries. He is a tad bit overweight, which has contributed to him being constantly sidelined with injuries.
Many still expect him to one day become the face of the NBA. But it will only be possible if he can manage to stay fit.
Skip Bayless Thinks Zion Williamson Is A Better Player Than Luka Doncic
As of now, the best young player in the league is, without a doubt, the Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic. Apart from being incredibly good in the regular season, Luka also managed to carry the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals last season.
Despite that, NBA analyst Skip Bayless has shown full trust in Zion and put him ahead of Luka.

“All I know is when Zion is right, he’s the best. It’s when he’s healthy and when he’s fit. When he’s right, and he has been for stretches of his career. He dominates in ways even Luka cannot dominate, because he’s truly unstoppable in the paint. Truly unstoppable. He’s going to make 70% of his shots.”
Zion is a freak of nature, and there are no two ways to look at it. In the few games that he has played in the NBA, he has destroyed his opponents using his insane athleticism.
But the biggest concern around Zion is his health. He might possess more raw talent than Luka, but it’s no good if he cannot stay healthy and actually play 60-plus games each season.
